Truly Switching Off

Casa nella Pineta offers rare conditions for those looking for a place to truly stop.
The Lagomare district is quiet by nature, with controlled access and no through traffic. The 1,335 sqm garden is fully enclosed, creating a peaceful barrier from the outside world. Beyond the gate begins the San Rossore Park pine forest: not a decorative backdrop, but an intact ecosystem you can feel and breathe.

The interior spaces lend themselves beautifully to practice: the circular living room has proportions naturally suited to contemplation, while the wooden deck facing the garden works as an ideal outdoor space for yoga or meditation in the cool of the morning.

The villa can be rented by groups wishing to organise independent retreats: yoga, meditation, writing, or contemplative practices of any tradition. With its five bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, and generous shared spaces, it is perfectly suited for hosting. For those seeking a structured programme, we periodically organise hosted workshops and gatherings with teachers and guides: write to info@casanellapineta.it for information on upcoming dates.

Exploring the Area

Torre del Lago and its surroundings offer an unusual combination of nature, culture, and the sea.
A few ideas for organising your stay:

Nature

The San Rossore Park organises guided excursions on foot, on horseback, and by canoe. Lake Massaciuccoli can be explored by flat-bottomed boat, with guided tours departing from the Torre del Lago harbour. Birdwatching at the LIPU Oasis is one of the quietest and most surprising experiences the park has to offer.

Musica e cultura

The Puccini Festival takes place every summer between July and August right on the lake. The Villino Museo Puccini, just a few minutes from the villa, preserves the original rooms where the composer lived and worked. Lucca, less than half an hour away, offers a rich cultural calendar throughout the year.

The Sea

Torre del Lago beach is less than a 10-minute walk through the pines. Viareggio, just 5 km away, features well-equipped beach clubs, one of the liveliest fish markets on the coast, and a historic Art Nouveau promenade.

Day Trips

Lucca and Pisa are less than half an hour away, while Florence can be reached in about an hour. The hills of the Garfagnana, the Apuan Alps, and the historic villages of the Lucchesia are all easily reachable for a day out.

The pine forest, the sea, the lake

Casa nella Pineta is built for those who want to truly switch off, without giving anything up. The enclosed garden, the pine forest beyond the gate, the quiet rhythm of the sea a short walk away: together they create the conditions for a deeper kind of rest.

For those who want it, everything is close at hand: the sea, the lakeside restaurants, the Puccini Festival in summer, Lucca and Pisa less than half an hour away. But the house works the other way too: as a place to stop, breathe, and find your own pace again.
